Job summary
The post holder will be joining our Performance & Informatics (P&I) department who are well respected and the largest of our corporate services. The P&I portfolio encompasses Business Intelligence & Informatics, Corporate Performance, Information Systems Development, Clinical Coding, Data Quality, Patient Access, Cancer Services and Analytical Development.
P&I work cross functionally to support the Trusts operational delivery of both national and internal targets which ensures the highest standards of patient care are delivered. A robust Performance Management Framework is embedded across UHCW that tracks and evaluates progress and supports both operational and clinical governance frameworks.
New opportunities at a national level are being developed by P&I in areas of health inequality, waiting list management and system working. Most notably working innovatively to develop the 'Health Equity and the Right to Treatment' (HEARTT) tool which culminated in being awarded the 'Innovation and Improvement in Reducing Healthcare Inequalities Award 2022' and being recognised with the 'Best Healthcare Analytics Award 2024' for the collaborative work alongside IBM and Celonis regarding Outpatient Optimisation and Patient Engagement at the prestigious Health Service Journal Awards.

Main duties of the job
Alongside the Head of Analytical Development, you will be responsible for delivering high quality and effective analytical support to the wider organisation. This will include scheduled reports at agreed intervals, highlighting areas of improvement as well as challenge, making recommendations for improvements and supporting transformational projects.
The post holder is required to consider a wide range of factors and propose solutions which allow the organisation to have confidence in its use of data and information. Consistently demonstrating professional and structured approach the post holder will lead and develop a team to support the Trust extract greater value from its data resources and develop its business.
The post holder will have strong leadership and management skills to build and maintain a World Class analytics service, utilising the best available technology and attracting and developing the best available talent.
Data is one of the most important assets of any organisation and this is especially true within UHCW. Business Intelligence & Informatics capabilities are instrumental to driving operational delivery and performance, so this is an exciting opportunity to continue developing a business intelligence culture within the Trust.
To be an effective leader within the Business Intelligence & Informatics team to ensure the organisations data needs are fully understood and proposed solutions implemented through effective communication with key stakeholders.
