Job summary

The E-Rostering senior nurse will be responsible for the day to day operational management of the system providing support and guidance for all aspects of E-Rostering across UHCW. The role will support the Lead nurse and members of the E-Rostering team to provide a quality service which is efficient, stays within financial constraints, provides high levels of user satisfaction and delivers core service objectives.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for the design, development, delivery and evaluation of training for the E-Rostering system to ensure all staff appropriately use the system to assist the Trust in meeting its financial targets.
  • Support the rostering and safer staffing lead in the delivery of all key targets and performance indicators as required.
  • Promotes best practice in roster production through effective use of the E-Rostering system.
  • To support the rostering and safer staffing lead in the development of measures for monitoring activity for wards, departments, Groups and help set targets where necessary.

Job description

Job responsibilities

System management:1. Responsible for the design, development, delivery and evaluation of training forthe E-Rostering system to ensure all staff appropriately use the system to assistthe Trust in meeting its financial targets.

2. Support the rostering and safer staffing lead in the delivery of all key targets andperformance indicators as required.

3. Promotes best practice in roster production through effective use of the ERostering system.

5. Liaise with the Software Provider as required and provides real-time updates toservice users.

6. Support the role out of the system to other staff groups across the Trust.

7. Support the groups to audit the acuity and dependency in safe care in astandardised way.

8. Act as the point of contact for the E-roster System Administrators for the Allocate

9. Work with the Lead Nurse to ensure that the system BCP is current and reflects allsystem changes. Participate in the activation of the plan as appropriate.

10. To ensure that robust processes are in place for the management of staff data onthe staff rostering system. Identifying, reporting and mitigating risks and issues.

Training and Development:1. Attends E-Rostering user group forums and software supplier training events tokeep up to date with latest product development information as required.

2. Actively contribute to and as directed, lead on the development of new policies,procedures and practices required for E-Rostering

3. Identify any knowledge and skills gap with users and provide support throughfurther training sessions or on a one to one basis from within the team.

4. Participate in the training and communication initiatives designed to raisemanagers awareness and competency of the E-Rostering system and to supportits implementation.

5. Is responsible for the preparation of relevant documentation, training guides anduser guides associated with system upgrades.

6. With the support of the rostering and safer staffing lead develop initiatives topromote staff engagement and provide great end user service.

Management:1. To support the electronic rostering team with covering absences and allocatingworkload in order to provide a consistently high level of service.

2. To be aware of the training needs of electronic rostering staff members andensure that appropriate training is developed and delivered to them.

3. Work within set budgets as detailed in collaboration with rostering and saferstaffing lead, to ensure the utilisation of all resources appropriately.

4. Support the rostering and safer staffing lead in the co-ordination of the contributionof E-Rostering to service and budget development plans.

5. Actively contribute to other effective cost improvement initiatives across the Trust.

6. Responsible for ensuring Lead Nurse is fully updated on all issues related to E-Rostering.

7. Work with the Lead Nurse to undertake staff personal development reviews andsupport attendance management.

8. Undertake any other task as required by the Lead Nurse in accordance with thegrade and nature of the post.
