Job summary
An extremely exciting opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Driving Instructor to join West Midlands Ambulance Service University NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful post holder will deliver core driver training, as dictated by the Trusts Education & Training Strategy, plan and Training Days Analysis; with particular reference to the evaluation and testing of Trust staff
Main duties of the job
In addition, the successful applicant will manage the dynamic nature of driving instruction and the control required; preparing and presenting evidence of candidates suitability for courses, relevant training needs analysis and the provision of remedial training as appropriate.
The post holder will hold or be working towards the Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) qualification and will also need to hold and attain the IHCD Ambulance Driving Instructor Qualification (or be working towards the equivalent diploma in emergency response ambulance driving instruction (DERADI) if not already held or IHCD Police conversion programme (if applicable). In addition the post will also require an Assessing Qualification or the development towards this.
Applicants must also have a full clean UK drivers licence showing full Category C1
If this position involves a regulated activity it will require an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check. The disclosure will, where appropriate to the role, include information against the Independent Safeguarding Authority barred lists for working with children, adults or both
Where a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check is required for the post, applicants are required to cover the cost of the check. The cost of £42.50 for an enhanced check is payable to our online provider at the time that the DBS application is submitted. Upon receipt of your DBS you will then be required to sign up to the DBS online update service.
