Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has become available for an Operations Officer within the National Ambulance Resilience Unit (NARU) at Ryton on Dunsmore to cover maternity leave.
This secondment is necessary to provide cover for the existing Operations Officer who is being temporarily redeployed for 18 months. This role therefore provides an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to gain national experience and expand their professional portfolio.

If this position involves a regulated activity it will require an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check. The disclosure will, where appropriate to the role, include information against the Independent Safeguarding Authority barred lists for working with children, adults or both
Where a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check is required for the post, all applicants are required to cover the cost of the check. - Academic qualification at UK Level 6 (graduate) in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
- Operational or Tactical Commander qualification. Must be current with a corresponding up-to-date continued professional development portfolio.
- JESIP eLearning Package.
Skills and Knowledge
Essential
- Full UK Driving Licence with C1 & D1.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to influence and negotiate with external stakeholder organisations in a complex working environment.
- A professional understanding of safety critical systems and safe systems of work.
- Knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 including their subsequent regulatory provisions and practical application.
- Demonstrable planning, organisational, and project management skills.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Office 365 and the use of online (cloud based) database software. Must have well developed skills in using these systems.
- Detailed knowledge of the Proclus system
