Lead Immunotherapy Cancer Nurse Specialist

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Immunotherapy Clinical Nurse Specialist at University Hospitals Plymouth. Working alongside all teams, you will undertake direct specialist advice and clinical care and provide training and development.

Must have demonstrable experience at a senior level working with oncology patients. Need to be familiar with all Immunotherapy and the treatment of toxicities

The post holder must be willing to undertake nurse led clinics for monitoring and follow up of patients on treatment, take part in clinical audit and research and provide education and training. The post holder should be willing and will be supported to undertake non-medical prescribing and other appropriate level 7 modules to reach their potential, as need be.

***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***

Main duties of the job

Lead, manage and develop the Immunotherapy nursing service working alongside the Consultant Oncologists, doctors, AHP's and other CNS teams.

To provide a specialist nursing service for patients experiencing side effects from immunotherapy

Undertake nurse-led clinics including non-medical prescribing if appropriate

Work as part of the AOS weekly

To act as an expert resource and facilitator to educate and train.

Undertake audit and evaluation and develop policies and procedures as required

To work as an integrated member of the wider cancer nurse specialist team.
