?About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivatedInterventional Radiology (IR) Lead Nurse/ODPto provide clinical, operational, and professional leadership within our expanding IR service. This is a pivotal role supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care across a wide range of interventional procedures, including vascular, non-vascular, oncology, and emergency interventions.

You will work closely with the IR Service Lead, Consultant Radiologists, Radiographers, and wider MDT to ensure the smooth running of the department, effective patient flow, and continuous service improvement.

Main duties of the job

?Key Responsibilities

  • Provide visible clinical leadership and act as a role model for surgical excellence within IR.
  • Lead and coordinate day-to-day operational activity, ensuring safe staffing, effective skill mix, and high standards of care.
  • Oversee patient pathways, including pre-assessment, intra-procedural care, and post-procedure recovery.
  • Support the development and implementation of clinical guidelines, safety standards, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Lead on governance activity including incident review, audit, risk management, and compliance with IR(ME)R and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Promote a culture of learning, supporting staff development, competency assessment, and education.
  • Work collaboratively with the MDT to enhance service efficiency, patient experience, and innovation in interventional practice.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for service expansion, new technologies, and workforce development.
