Job summary

Are you an experienced Interventional Radiology nurse with a passion for supporting, inspiring and developing others?We are seeking a dedicated and forward-thinking Lead Clinical Educator (Nursing) to support our growing Interventional Radiology nursing workforce and drive high-quality clinical education within this highly specialised environment.

As the Lead Clinical Educator for Nursing within Interventional Radiology, you will lead the delivery of our nursing education strategy, ensuring our IR nurses and support staff have the specialist knowledge, technical skills and confidence required to work safely in a dynamic and complex procedural setting.

You will be the professional nursing lead for education in IR, acting as a visible role model, providing hands-on clinical teaching, and ensuring that learning is embedded into everyday practice. You'll also work closely with senior nursing staff, education teams and service managers to maintain excellent standards of care, practice and workforce development.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior IR nurse to step into a strategic yet highly clinical education leadership role.

***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***

Main duties of the job

- Leading nursing education across the Interventional Radiology Unit - Coordinating competency-based training for scrub nurses, circulating nurses, and support workers - Providing real-time clinical teaching in the IR suite, supporting nurses during complex and high-risk procedures - Leading on induction, preceptorship, supervision and ongoing CPD for all IR nursing staff - Ensuring compliance with NMC standards, statutory training and Trust educational requirements - Supporting nurses who are developing, struggling or building confidence, using coaching and structured development plans - Leading IR-specific study days, simulation scenarios and device-training sessions - Acting as the key nursing point of contact for universities, students and learners - Working with senior nursing leadership to align education with service needs and workforce planning - Maintaining high-quality records and supporting education governance, audits and service reviews
