The closing date is 10 February 2026

Job summary

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is undergoing significant investment and expansion, creating an opportunity to appoint 5 Trust Doctors (StR Lower) in Medicine. These 1-year posts will rotate through 3 4 month placements, within the Medical Specialties (e.g. Acute Med Geriatrics, Thoracic medicine, Neurology, Stroke, Hepatology, Cardiology, Oncology, Haematology etc). Please note although these vacancies are not recognised for training purposes, the successful candidates will be given the same opportunities as the other trainees working on the Medical Rota, and will aim to support development opportunities for those seeking to apply for Internal Medicine Training (IMT) Stage 1 next year. We anticipate that the successful candidates will be working towards Part 1 Membership of the Royal College of Physicians and would be happy to support them gaining this qualification.
