University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust

Senior Healthcare Scientist Assistant

The closing date is 29 January 2026

Job summary

This is a very exciting time for our Cardiology Department. We have secured a full departmental rebuild including the addition of a 4th Cardiac Catheter Lab and complete refurbishment of our existing labs. This has enabled installation of the latest technology for EPS/Ablation as well as a full range of other cardiac interventional procedures. The building work is well underway and is due for completion towards the end of the year.

We are also part of the Plymouth Community Diagnostics Centre (PCDC) dueto go live in the summer of 2026. We are currently looking to expand our services with a focus on patient pathway improvement and are open to all forward thinking and innovative ideas/solutions.

As the tertiary hospital and cardio-thoracic centre for the Southwest, weprovidea full range of non-invasive and invasive procedures (including a large congenital non-invasive service).

***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
