About the Role

As Divisional Quality Lead, you will be a key senior member of the Division Management Team, responsible for leading the strategic development, implementation, and monitoring of the Division's quality governance portfolio. You will work collaboratively with medical governance leads, clinical teams, and operational staff to ensure robust systems are in place to deliver safe, effective, and high-quality care.

You will provide expert advice and senior clinical leadership across the Division, ensuring compliance with regulatory, national, and internal standards. This includes oversight of risk management, incidents, complaints, mortality reviews, audits, and patient safety initiatives.

***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***

Main duties of the job

  • Lead the Division's quality governance agenda, including risk, incidents, complaints, PALS, mortality, audit, assurance, and patient safety.
  • Provide senior clinical leadership and expert advice across the Division and associated services.
  • Represent the Division at internal and external meetings, including NHS England, CQC, and ICB.
  • Chair and attend meetings related to incident investigations and complaints.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures and quality improvement projects.
  • Maintain clinical credibility by working within a relevant clinical area at least one day per month.
  • Line manage the Clinical Lead - Patient Experience and Outcomes.
  • Oversee the Division's service line risk registers and ensure alignment with Trust policies.
  • Lead educational initiatives and support succession planning related to Quality Governance.
  • Collaborate with other Divisions to share learning and address cross-cutting themes.
