Band 6 Specialist Senior Radiographer, Outpatient X-Ray Imaging and X-Ray Quality Assurance.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as a band 6 specialist senior radiographer in Outpatient X-Ray (Plain Film) Imaging. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic HCPC registered Radiographer to join our dynamic mobile imaging team at UHPT. Applications are welcomed from radiographers with demonstrable post graduate experience in a plain film/general radiographer or similar style role, sound clinical proven knowledge of radiography, leadership and quality assurance programmes.

The Outpatient X-Ray Imaging service at UHPT encompasses the widest service delivery remit in the South West region, to include an extensive variety of specialist services - chest, cardiac, ENT, trauma, orthopaedic (adult and paediatric), neurosurgical, urology, and upper GI. As well as being a specialist within this area, successful candidates will be responsible for the successful delivery of the X-Ray Quality Assurance Programme, as well as able to gain a wide range of experience including trauma imaging, fluoroscopy. general inpatient imaging, paediatrics, and theatre and mobile imaging.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Radiographer you would be expected to provide clinical excellence, liaise with all service users, aid service development, and manage the day-to-day organisation of the clinical area whilst consistently providing effective and efficient leadership. This role will be expected to provide support across the whole X-ray (Plain Film) Imaging team as part of senior responsibilities' and in absence of the Outpatient and QA Lead Radiographer.

The department hosts undergraduate radiographers on placement from the University of Exeter and the University of Plymouth as well as training apprentice radiographers, so you will be expected to be actively involved in their training and supervision as part of your role, whilst supporting the wider team. All candidates must be enthusiastic about teaching and supporting learners in the clinical environment.
