Band 3 Admissions Coordinator - Endoscopy
An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the Endoscopy admissions team.
The endoscopy unit offers a complete range of high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic services, performing approximately 14,000 procedures per year through 6 treatment rooms. The unit operates a 6 day (Mon-Sat) service.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual to work in this busy department, which will entail working in a team of Admission Coordinators to plan elective day case and non-elective emergency admission lists for the endoscopy clinical team. The admissions team is supported by a team of clerical officers which means the successful candidate will lead by example.
Applicants should have a responsible attitude, be proactive, demonstrate using initiative and excellent communication skills as a high degree of liaison is required with senior clinicians, nursing staff, other departments and service line management.
Please note the successful applicant will be required to work 1 in 6 Saturdays in a rotation with the rest of the team.

Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS at Risk staff throughout Devon who is able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.
Main duties of the job
Be responsible for placing patients onto the waiting list using accurate coding.
Manage the PTL selecting patients for admission on the basis of clinical priority and agreed protocols, in liaison with directorate and clinicians.
To be accountable for ensuring all capacity is fully utilised.
Take appropriate actions with regard to telephone call from patients, GPs and other agencies using initiative within trust guidelines.
