Main duties of the job

Senior Radiographer - Launceston Hospital

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Radiographer to join our imaging team as a Senior Radiographer at Launceston Hospital. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic HCPC registered Radiographer with post graduate NHS experience to deliver a high quality, effective and efficient radiographic service to the highest professional standard. You'll play an important role in patient care, so you should be positive, adaptable, and work to high standards to ensure the Trust maintains its good reputation. Launceston Imaging department is one of 6 peripheral sites that come under UHPT; where you will work autonomously (within a job share) running the day-to-day imaging service.

Due to the nature of the role previous demonstrable experience in a large clinical setting is essential.

About us

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is one of the largest teaching hospitals in Europe employing more than 6,500 staff. As a tertiary referral centre we offer a wide range of clinical specialities to the population we serve. We provide a wide range of acute and general hospital services including oncology and radiotherapy, paediatrics, orthopaedic, neurosciences and cardiothoracics. The emergency department is designated as a major trauma centre for the Peninsula. As a result, radiographers at UHPT undertake a very comprehensive range of examinations within their given area of practice; this makes it a very interesting and rewarding place to work. UHPT Imaging supports student radiographers from the University of Exeter and University of Plymouth, and is a training site for Radiologists based at the South West Imaging Academy. The imaging department has a comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging modalities including x-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, interventional radiology, cardiac cath labs, fluoroscopy as well as providing imaging services at peripheral sites. This role will include keeping in touch days on the main site at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.

Our Trust core values are 'Put people first', Take ownership', 'Respect others', and 'Be positive'. If you agree that these values should be integral to your work, then University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust has much to offer you.
