Exciting opportunity for a new Procurement Administrator working within the busy Procurement team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust.

This new role could be a professional development opportunity for anyone looking to progress further with a career in Procurement but is in the first instance an administration role which offers variety and challenge.

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust includes Derriford Hospital and other satellite healthcare locations which deliver care to patients, friends, and family across Plymouth and beyond.

The procurement and supply chain management team are integral to continued delivery of care through management of contracts, delivery of products and service, professional support to construction and expansion of healthcare facilities in the Southwest.

The department is recognised internally and externally for delivering best in class procurement and every member of the team is acknowledged for their contribution to departmental success.

***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***

Main duties of the job

The desired candidate will have good communication skills, positive attitude to work with a desire to help and support in the continued delivery of overarching department objectives.An interest in Procurement and further professional development is desirable, however not an essential requirement for the right candidate.The candidate must have the ability to work as part of a team, with agility to undertake a wide variety of administration tasks as and when requested and good time management skills for scheduled delivery of tasks.Core IT skills are essential; demonstrated use with standard Microsoft packages to include word and excel is a minimum requirement as is ability to pick up administration tasks for other systems as required.

  • To assist the Procurement team in obtaining quotations, placing purchase orders and resolving invoice queries
  • To co-ordinate supplier visits, meetings and contract reviews ensuring all paperwork (Agendas, minutes ect) are distributed promptly
  • Processing Non-catalogue request forms
  • Maintaining the contracts database to ensure all contracts are validated and uploaded promptly
