The Peninsula Cancer Alliance is developing a work plan which prioritises delivery of the recommendations within the LTP (Long Term Plan) for cancer.
The Cancer Alliance aims to strengthen collaborative working to:
- develop a unified vision for cancer services in the Peninsula and in accordance with the Cancer LTP;
- establish consistency of standards for pathway management, clinical protocols and provision of cancer treatments;
- better manage diagnostic capacity to improve cancer waiting times;
- reduce costs through reducing duplication and variation;
- enhance patient experience;
- maximise research and training across the system
- Ensure meaningful engagement with the public and patients and other key partners on the development and their delivery of their plans;
- share learning;
This post will be at the heart of the Peninsula Cancer Alliance, supporting the Alliance and wider team to ensure the smooth running of all its functions. The post holder will also lead on communication and will manage the Administration team.
The candidate will also be responsible for Information Governance over the data requirements for the team and supporting the Peninsula Cancer Alliance board.
***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
Main duties of the job
To provide a skilled and full range of duties, in support of the Alliance:
- Deliver effective business processes for the Alliance including personnel, budget support and stakeholder management.
- To establish the communication plans/strategy for the Alliance including managing the relationships with all relevant stakeholders
- To establish the reporting arrangements for the Alliance ensuring that reporting is maintained accurately and in a timely manner
- To have the skills to support Alliance staff with presentations to large groups
- Support the Managing Director and Alliance Programme Manager run the Alliance Board/s efficiently including preparing pre-Board and post-Board communication.
- To support the Managing Director with budget management including regular reporting
- To manage the Alliance's administrative staff
- To develop and support Alliance workshops and other active engagement
- The post-holder is expected to take responsibility for delivery against this job description and annual objectives as agreed in objective setting and appraisal meetings
- Set, plan and prioritise own workload to deliver effective outcomes
