Lyd is a Short stay ward with length of stay for patients being 72hours. We cover a range of different specialities with our main focus on endocrine and diabetes. An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join our dynamic healthcare team. Ideally, you will have experience in acute medicine and be able to communicate clearly and confidently. As part of the team you should be able to assist with patient assessment accurately and professionally, taking bloods, undertaking electrocardiograms, monitoring vital signs and discussing symptoms with the clinical team. This is a great opportunity to widen your skills and knowledge as we see a wide range of different medical conditions.

***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***

This job description describes the role that the apprentice will be working in during the training period. Supervision and support will be provided during tasks, supporting the apprentice to safely gain experience and confidence, and to successfully complete the training programme. These tasks will be introduced as the apprentice gains competency.

- To support registered staff with the physical health, comfort and wellbeing of service users, including physical observations and taking blood pressure, temperature and pulse
