To provide operational leadership and manage a high quality and effective MRI service in Derriford Hospital or outlying departments as required.
To provide leadership and direction to radiographic and support staff working in your area.
Contribute to and lead where appropriate, the development of your specialist service.
The principle job purpose of this role is operational leadership for the MRI department
***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
Main duties of the job
- To assist with the daily running of the department by rotaing, maintaining diaries for maximum capacity and equipment issues.
- To lead a high-quality MRI service at Derriford Hospital or other outlying departments as required.
- All staff will be expected to undertake examinations on both public and private sector patients, and participate in 7 day working rotas.
- To provide excellent leadership to all staff working in Radiology.
- To support the effective delivery and operations of the department
- To work autonomously and support the team to carry out diagnostic radiography and specialised procedures within the MRI department
- To ensure all staff adhere to the current MHRA guidelines and work safely within the health and safety regulations.
- To participate in the on-call service for the MRI department
- To support the imaging team to deliver the optimum care to patients whilst producing optimum quality diagnostic images.
- To provide guidance and support to members of staff & students.
