Job summary
- The post holder will work as an integral part of the Facilities team ensuring a high quality service to patients, visitors and staff.
- To be responsible for the daily supervision and co-ordination of activities undertaken in relation to car parking activities at Derriford and associated sites.
- To ensure that all related health and safety procedures are adhered to in relation to the car parking service.
- To take responsibility for ensuring that all maintenance issues in relation to the multi-storey and surface car parks are addressed in line with internal processes and procedures
***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
Main duties of the job
To work with other Supervisors or Team Leaders from other teams to understand the wider needs of each area and co-ordinate activities collaboratively, where necessary working flexibly across the trust.
To supervise and support the team of car parking attendants to ensure that daily duties are undertaken, to delegate daily duties to team members efficiently to ensure high standards of service are provided at all time.

- To ensure that all staff are provided with a rota which takes into consideration the most effective cover of the service and which is fair and consistent for all staff.
- To support with the recruitment process for staff by shortlisting, sitting on interview panel and candidate selection.
- To ensure the team receive and apply the relevant training to ensure the highest levels of service are delivered.
- To support the procurement of Uniforms, PPE and other applicable equipment
- To create and change rosters to meet the needs of the respective team including: Creating weekly duty rota (short and long term)Advertise, manage, induct, and release shifts for NHSP workers Arrange and book overtime in a cost-effective manner
- To provide weekly data on staffing levels and agency bookings, to support evidence in relation to financial performance of the team
- To ensure that the cark parks at the site are patrolled effectively and the safety of the public is maintained
- Ensure the maintenance of the car parks and that car park inspections are undertaken in line with Trust procedures
- Liaise with external contractors as required, ensuring that all necessary paperwork is complied with and that any contracted works are completed on time and to specification
- Ensure any health and safety concerns are addressed and raised to the correct bodies

- Check equipment that the team use on a daily basis and address any problems and reporting repair procedures
