Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity within Oncology for a Band 7 Macmillan Immunotherapy Cancer Nurse Specialist to help us develop our growing immunotherapy service at University Hospitals Plymouth. Working alongside the IO nurse, oncology and multi-disciplinary teams you will support the development of the service, undertake direct specialist advice and clinical care and provide training and development.

The post holder will be supported to undertake nurse led clinics for monitoring and follow up of patients, take part in clinical audit and research and provide education and training. You will be supported to undertake non-medical prescribing and other appropriate level 7 modules to reach your potential.

Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.

Main duties of the job

  • To lead and develop the service alongside the Immunotherapy nurse and oncology consultants.
  • To provide a specialist nursing service for patients requiring immunotherapies.
  • Undertake nurse-led clinics including non-medical prescribing if appropriate.
  • To act as an expert resource and facilitator to educate and train
  • Undertake audit and evaluation and develop policies and procedures as required.
  • To work as an integrated member of the cancer nurse specialist team.
