An exciting opportunity has become available in our busy Colorectal service at Trust Registrar level.
This will be a fixed term contract for 12 months, immediate start date if possible, but there are likely to be further opportunities to extend the post with us in Colorectal service, or possibly within another surgical subspeciality dependent on individual requirements. This is covering a vacancy within a formally recognised deanery training post. The successful candidate will be given the same training opportunities as those on a recognised training programme.

This post provides an excellent opportunity for exposure to a large number of general surgery cases as well as subspeciality practice in Colorectal Surgery. Depending on the level of experience of the candidate the role can accommodate the opportunity to be involved in major complex surgeries.
The successful candidate will participate in the standard work of the unit, including commitment to the general surgery on call rota in line with other middle grade doctors on the general surgical unit.

There will be a commitment to the teaching of medical students within the post.
We have just received delivery of a second DaVinci surgical robot, we perform pelvic exenteration including laparoscopic pelvic side-wall node dissection, intestinal failure surgery, TEMS, Colon capsule endoscopy, Complete mesocolic excision, IBD surgery including laparoscopic pouch surgery.
We are an accredited centre for pelvic floor surgery. We perform SNS and laparoscopic surgery for pelvic floor problems with a pelvic floor MDT.
