Job summary
3 x WTE Engineering Technician posts to work in Clinical Engineering, in Derriford Hospital. The successful applicants will work under supervision of the Team Leader to perform preventative and corrective maintenance and modification on a range of medical equipment.
This role is progress to a Band 5 Clinical Engineer subject to the completion of a Portfolio of Experience.
Expected interview date will be 27th November 2023.

Main duties of the job
To perform scheduled preventative and corrective maintenance, calibration, safety and acceptance testing on a range of medical and clinical equipment as required under the guidance of the Team Leader. Receives in-house and manufacturer training and gains competencies in technical tasks on a range of medical devices as defined by the technical competency framework and department need. Developing a portfolio of knowledge, evidenced competence and experience, aligned to a nationally recognised standard.
This role is progressive to Clinical Engineer (Band 5) following a successful assessment of a completed Clinical Engineering portfolio providing supporting evidence and demonstrating required experience and knowledge or on completion of the PTP degree course (Apprenticeship levy funded) in Clinical Engineering.
