Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, motivated and passionate occupational therapy support worker to join our highly regarded integrated therapy team at Mount Gould Hospital, Plymouth. This dynamic team is looking for someone who is confident to deliver therapeutic assessments and interventions within the occupational therapy team at Mount Gould Hospital.

The inpatient service works within the community hospital setting with a rehabilitation focus as part of the intermediate care pathway. The team support patients with appropriate treatment and intervention also working closely with other community services to facilitate discharge.

The successful candidates will join this well-established service to support, deliver and develop this service for the local Health Community. Main duties of the job

  • To perform specific therapeutic (clinical and non-clinical) assessment, treatment and discharge of an identified caseload of patients within the Occupational Therapy Team as part of the MDT on Kingfisher and Skylark wards, Local Care Centre, Mount Gould Hospital. The clinical caseload will be allocated and indirectly supervised by registered Health and Care Professions Council registered therapists within the area. Caseload includes visiting in-patients' homes and other community settings.
  • To support the Occupational Therapists in delivering a quality Occupational Therapy service to the patients referred from within Mount Gould Hospital.
  • To support the Team Leader in running of the Equipment loan system for the Occupational Therapy Department, Mount Gould Hospital.
  • To provide clerical/administration support to the Occupational Therapists and Therapy Department.
  • To independently treat patients following protocols or delegated tasks.
  • To be part of the 7-day working rota, which includes weekends and bank holidays
