Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join the Urology Outpatient team (Chestnut Unit).

We are looking to recruit two additional HCA's to our expanding team. You will need to be a caring and compassionate individual who is keen to develop their skills and knowledge in caring for urology patients in a busy department. You will need to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide a high standard of care for our patients.

If you feel you can contribute to the quality of patient care delivery in our out-patient setting then we would be very keen to hear from you. The successful candidate will embrace the challenge of working in a highly demanding environment.

We offer a supportive induction period where you will work with wider members of the team to understand the role of the HCA in urology outpatients, and to learn the skills you'll need for the role.

The urology service line are moving their outpatient service to a purpose built unit. This will increase the clinic capacity and improve the patient experience.

For candidates that don't fully meet the qualifications being asked, we may be able to offer you the Health Care Support Worker program or the apprenticeship program

Main duties of the job

  • To assist in the delivery of care planned and assessed by the urology team within the urology outpatient department.
  • To provide support and guidance for patients attending for outpatient appointments
  • To provide support for the wider urology team under direct supervision

***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
