Job summary

Position available for a competent driver/operator in busy incinerator site within UHP Plymouth working a 4 day rolling shift

***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***

Main duties of the job

Collect waste from around trust site

Help process waste on site

Work closely with other operators and staff to run the site efficiently as possible.

Be flexible in the role to helps others.

Provide a positive attitude towards the working day and to provide a safe working environment.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Collection of customers waste/materials/general transport duties withthe limits of individuals training and competence.
  • Responsible for ensuring full compliance with all legislation regarding the incinerator operations (on and off-site locations).
  • Responsible for the health, safety and welfare of yourself, otheremployees, agency workers, contractors, customers and visitors entering this site and other locations.
  • Responsible for all environmental compliance operations within the role
  • Ensuring waste is accepted onto the site in accordance with theCompanys Environmental Management Systems Permit procedure
  • Ensuring all data recording is done correctly, (electronically or manually).
  • Input load data details onto the weighbridge system as and whenrequired.
  • Responsible for completing all the daily vehicle checks before leaving site and reporting any issues/defects using the correct procedures (defect log books). Vehicles are suitably always fuelled.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and condition of trust vehicles andequipment at all times.
  • Loads are securely fixed and compliant with Road Traffic Regulationsincluding ADR requirements if qualified.
  • To be able to represent the company in a professional and cost-effective manner to provide customer satisfaction.
  • Flexibility to work within the plant or yard when driving duties arecomplete or not required to fulfil your contracted hours.
  • Take ownership, respect others, be positive, listen, learn and improve.
