Occupational Health Nurse Advisor
Band 6, up to 37.5 hours/week (1.0 WTE)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Occupational Health & Wellbeing Department. We require an Occupational Health and Wellbeing Nurse Advisor to deliver an exemplar, proactive, comprehensive and evidence based Occupational Health Service to University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust and a wide variety of customer contracts.
The role will encompass both working autonomously at external client premises and within the OHWB department in the Derriford Centre for Health & Wellbeing, to provide a comprehensive range of contracted clinical services. The post will involve travel to external customer premises.
The post holder will need to demonstrate current experience and competence in Occupational Health Nursing at Band 5, preferably within one or more of the following sectors: NHS, the Public sector, private OH sector, or an Industry setting.

The post holder will become part of a dynamic team who support the staff who work for University Hospitals Plymouth.

Provide a comprehensive Occupational Health Nursing service. This includes services to Trust staffand external clients within the Derriford Centre for Health & Wellbeing, as well as service provision onsite at external client premises for their employees. Assist the OH Nurse Team Manager in the support, supervision and mentoring to OHWB Nurse TeamMembers. Support the OH Nurse Team Manager with the development of policies, procedures and guidelines, asapplicable. Establish proactive relationships and effective communications with all stakeholders, including clients,managers, HR Business Partners of the Trust and external organisations, in accordance with currentlegislation, DoH and NICE guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures and in line with therequirements of SEQOHS, CQC, HSE, and PHE etc. Work closely with other clinical professionals within OHWB via internal referral, provision of advice andmanagement reports and case management / discussion as appropriate. Ensure comprehensive clinical records are kept for all employee contacts, in both written andelectronic format (e-OPAS) as appropriate; provide feedback to referring managers and healthprofessionals as appropriate Undertake all clinical duties within level of expertise referring to the OH Nurse Team Manager and OHClinical Lead as required. Positively participate in continual improvement to processes and the development of policies,procedures and guidelines under the direction of the OH Nurse Team Manager, Clinical Lead and theOperations Manager as required. Proactively engage in clinical activities / initiatives relating to work, health and wellbeing. Represent the OHWB at relevant University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust and external businessmeetings as required. Represent the OHWB Nurse team as required.2. Education Undertake continuing professional development to keep abreast of current developments within theoccupational health and well-being agenda and OH nursing competencies and engage in the appraisalprocess and NMC Revalidation. Contribute to internal department programmes of learning and process improvements from anOccupational Health Nurse perspective, to develop the professional knowledge and skills ofcolleagues. Participate in local induction and safety briefings prior to working autonomously at external clientpremises, for the provision of contracted services. Participate in Induction, Mandatory Training, Health promotion initiatives and staff wellbeing events.3. Audit, research and service evaluation Ensure all clinical practice is evidence based and is supported by risk assessment where appropriate.
