Job summary
This is an exciting secondment opportunity within the Acute Paediatric and Neonatology Service Lines to gain experience working within the Children's Cluster senior management team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. The Children's Cluster is looking for a support manager to help steer the service and contribute to quality improvement work. This is a full time post on a 12 months secondment basis. We are seeking an enthusiastic candidate who is looking to gain further experience in management and support the existing Clinical Admin Management team in providing an efficient service to our patients.
***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
Main duties of the job
- To provide managerial and administrative support to the Service Line Manager and Service Line Clinical Director in the operational management of patient services to ensure delivery of key clinical activity and efficiency standards and financial targets.
- To take responsibility and accountability for leading designated projects within the service lines and sub-specialities, as directed by the Service Line Manager.
- To deputise for the Service Line Manager as and when required.
- To provide direct line and some budgetary management for the supporting management team and for those patient pathways within the Trusts policy guidance.
