Job summary

Fully funded shortened Midwifery Training course available for a UHPNT RGN Part 1 Adult NMC PIN with over 12months experience of working as an RGN.

Some important points if you are interested in applying:

  • This is a 2 year MSc programme, both years study is at level 7. The course is offered via a campus based programme and the new blended learning programme.

Main duties of the job

Working with University of Plymouth and University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust Maternity Unit, this programme provides Registered Adult Nurses, who already have a relevant degree, with the opportunity to study Midwifery at Masters level.This course equips you with the skills, knowledge and professional insight needed to become a registered midwife. Whether it's helping women during pregnancy and birth, or giving support to new mothers, you learn through doing, building your confidence as you go. Graduate ready to excel as a fully rounded Midwife.

This degree will build on your skills and knowledge as a registered adult nurse to work as part of a multi-professional team and develop you into an autonomous registered midwife. Having already gained a degree in adult nursing, you will start your studies at level 6 and progress to level 7 in order to gain a masters degree at the end of the two years.
