We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated Registered Nurse with excellent communication skills to join our forward-thinking dynamic trauma orthopaedic team on Shaugh Ward. You must have a passion for delivering kind and compassionate care and be willing to learn and develop within your role. Recruiting capable and committed staff is essential to maintaining our high standards of quality, safety and patient experience.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for co-ordinating and delivering effective quality nursing care following a patient centred model of practice and ensuring area of work runs smoothly and efficiently.
To provide clinical expertise and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Supervision and direction of junior nursing staff, healthcare assistants and learners.

Shaugh is a 32 bedded Trauma Orthopaedic Unit which providing care for adult patients from across the Peninsula for treatment following often traumatic and life changing events.

Assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating of individual patients needs based on evidence. This includes all aspects of care from admission to discharge.
Reporting and documenting all relevant nursing/patient needs, communicating changes with other health care professionals in the multi-disciplinary team with ongoing responsibility for patient care as they occur.
Promoting and delivering health education within the clinical area and advise patient, family, and others in health promotion issues.
