An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and committed individual to join the Acute Medical Team at King's Mill Hospital, part of Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
You will be employed by the Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and will be based at King's Mill Hospital where you will be part of a team providing clinical services to the Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and surrounding population of 400,000.
Main duties of the job
The Acute Medical Team consists of a number of highly committed consultants working alongside a team of dedicated nurses and allied health professionals. We are responsible for the care of patients presenting with acute medical conditions who are managed within the Emergency Assessment Unit, the Same Day Emergency Care Unit and those patients who may progress onto the Short Stay Ward.Our acute medical admissions average approximately 50-60 per day, with the majority being admitted through the Emergency Assessment Unit.It is afull-time position but candidates wishing to work part-time or in a job share are encouraged to apply. If a part-time or job-share person is appointed modification of the job content will be discussed with the appointee on a personal basis.A full and comprehensive induction programme is available for the successful candidate.

- Full registration (with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC) MRCP or equivalent
- Must have completed at least four years' post graduate training at least two of which will be in medicine specialties; or have equivalent experience and competencies

- Ability to maintain clinical credibility and authority with a multi-professional team including senior trainees
- Experience with audit, teaching or research/critical review of literature essential
