Job summary

The Admin & Clerical Officer plays a key role in supporting the smooth and efficient running of the Pre-Operative Assessment department. This varied and rewarding position provides essential administrative and reception support while contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with clinical teams and patients, ensuring that services run efficiently and that everyone visiting the department receives a professional and welcoming experience.

Key responsibilities include managing telephone and face-to-face enquiries, maintaining accurate and confidential patient records, preparing documentation and correspondence, organising mail, and supporting general office functions. The post holder will use a range of IT systems and administrative processes to ensure information is recorded accurately and departmental activities are well coordinated.

A distinctive feature of the role is the opportunity to work across four key areas of the department--Reception, Clinic Preparation, Anaesthetic Support, and Reconciling--providing a broad and engaging experience within the service. Full training is provided to support development and confidence in each area.

Overall, this role offers the chance to build valuable administrative, organisational, and communication skills within a supportive healthcare environment while making a meaningful contribution to patient care and the effectiveness of the department.
