Job summary
Join our dynamic Orthoptic team as a Senior Orthoptistand play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across our hospitals. Working as an autonomous practitioner within the Surgical Division, you will assess, diagnose and manage patients with ocular motility disorders, amblyopia and complex visual conditions, using specialist skills and evidence-based practice to develop effective treatment plans.
You will work across a variety of specialist clinics including paediatric ophthalmology, emergency orthoptics, stroke, low vision and biometry, supporting patients of all ages with diverse clinical needs. The role involves close collaboration with ophthalmologists, optometrists and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
As a senior clinician, you will also act as a source of expertise for patients, carers and healthcare professionals, providing clear communication and compassionate support throughout the patient journey. Opportunities to contribute to clinical teaching, audit, research and service development form an important part of the role, helping to enhance and evolve orthoptic services across the Trust.
