Upper GI Straight to Test Support Worker

Job summary

Sherwood Forest Hospitals arelooking for a proactive and organised Support Workerto join our Upper GI Team at King's Mill Hospital, supporting the delivery of high-quality care for patients with suspected Upper Gastrointestinal (UGI) cancer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a first point of contact for patients, carers, and healthcare professionals--handling face-to-face, telephone, and email enquiries.
  • To support the UGI CNS to identify the needs of upper GI cancer patients, via contributing to the Holistic Needs Assessment process where appropriate.
  • To provide general information and support regarding patient pathway and diagnostictests, to enable patients to navigate the health and social care system, and make optimal choices
  • Maintain and update spreadsheets and databases to track patient activity and support service audits.
  • Assist with the administrative running of nurse-led tele-clinics and health and well-being clinics.
  • Order and manage educational resources for patients.
  • Support the CNS team in data collection and audit activities to improve service delivery.
