The Gastroenterology team is based at Kings Mill Hospital in Mansfield - where there is a 4 room endoscopy unit. Newark hospital has a single room endoscopy unit. Outpatients clinics are provided at both sites. The service currently sees 4000 new patients in clinic and over 5000 follow ups. The endoscopy unit performs 14,000 procedures per year. The unit is the JAG East Midlands Endoscopy Training Centre
As a Speciality Doctor here at King's Mill Hospital you will provide outpatient, inpatient and endoscopic Gastroenterology services.
Main duties of the job
The over-riding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.
Provision of a service to Sherwood Forest Hospitals, with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness, and the proper functioning of the department
To contribute towards the teaching and training of medical students
To cover for colleagues' annual leave and other authorised absences
Carrying out teaching duties as required and contributing to undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education activity
Participating in medical audit, the Trust's Clinical Governance processes and in CPD - CPD is provided in job plans and attendance at audit and other governance meetings is mandatory
Any other duties which may be required from time to time

- Experience requisite to meeting all aspects of the job plan, with supervision
