Job summary
The stroke service at SFH is based at King's Mill Hospital (KMH) and is an all-inclusive model covering hyper-acute, acute and rehabilitation services, as well as the Early Supported Discharge (ESD) team for stroke. All of these are under the same management team, sharing team members, clinical protocols and governing structures.
The SFH stroke service admits approximately 500 stroke patients annually and was recently rated at an overall level A, in the latest Stroke Sentinel National Audit Programme (SSNAP). This puts us in the top quarter of Trusts nationally and our ambition is to sustain an A rating, with the help and commitment of new colleagues and to look to further improve the service for our patients.
Main duties of the job
Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of patients.
Teaching and training of junior staff and medical students.
To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit.
To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing medical education (CME)

- MRCP or equivalent
- Must be fully registered with GMC with a licence to practice
- Must have completed at least four years' full time post graduate training (or equivalent gained on a part time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; or have equivalent experience and competencies

- Experience within the specialty in the UK
Desirable
- Experience with audit, teaching or research/critical review of literature essential
