Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hardworking, team orientated and highly motivated person to join our MSK outpatient therapy service at King's Mill Hospital.
As an MSK outpatient physiotherapy assistant, you will contribute to providing outstanding value-based care to patients within the MSK outpatient setting including hydrotherapy/gym-based classes. You will also be responsible for ensuring stock is regularly checked and maintained which is an essential service for the team.

Essential
- Up to date clinical knowledge within MSk and of a range of medical conditions
- Ability to plan, carry out & evaluate individual therapeutic and educational sessions
- Able to work autonomously
- Skills of reasoning and decisions making for patient management
- Computer skills
- Counselling/empathy skills
- Manual handling skills
- Ability to assess, provide, adjust & fit equipment as required according to trust policy
- Must have an excellent understanding of the assistants role
- Must have excellent communication skills and an understanding of dealing with emotional issues
Desirable
- Already worked as a therapy assistant
- Experience of group work/set up
- Highly developed communication skills and previous experience of sensitive communication handling
- Worked in the leisure industry
Qualifications/Academic/ Craft/ Professional
Desirable
- NVQ Level III in Care "Diagnostic and Therapeutic Support" award or similar relevant award or ability to undertake training for the qualification on appointment.
