About Ward 32:

  • A 24-bed Surgical/Medical unit featuring 3 bays and 12 en-suite rooms.
  • A fast-paced environment with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
  • An established and collaborative Multidisciplinary Team dedicated to delivering excellent care.

We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, hardworking, and committed to delivering the best care possible. Have excellent communication skills and demonstrate compassion and understanding in all interactions with patients and their families.

Main duties of the job

As a Health Care Support Worker on Ward 32, you will:

  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.
  • Provide a courteous, helpful, and compassionate service to patients, relatives, and visitors.
  • Support your colleagues in fostering a motivating, stimulating, and supportive environment.
  • Play an active role in enhancing the patient experience on the ward.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Must understand basic requirements for individualised personal care
  • Recognise people's right to privacy and dignity, treating every person with respect
  • Awareness of Safeguarding issues

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ 2 in care
  • Educated to a good standard of general education equivalent to GCSE Maths & English level C or above
  • Care Certificate or commitment to achieving within 2 weeks of commencement

Desirable

  • "Care Certificate" qualification. NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care

Further Training

Essential

  • Able to attend a 6-day Clinical Induction
  • Committed to attending further training and development as identified

Experience

Essential

  • Able to demonstrate clear and robust verbal and written English communication skills
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Previous care work experience
  • Previous face-to-face customer care experience

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a hospital setting

  • Flexible approach
  • Able to work flexibly on a varied shift pattern according to the roster including nights and weekends
