Knowledge Requirements

Essential

  • Use of computer systems
  • Ability to communicate verbally & written
  • Knowledge of personalised care & social prescribing
  • Must have a full understanding of the Data Protection Act 1998 and be fully conversant with patient confidentiality

Desirable

  • Knowledge of computer systems used e.g., Careflow, Dragon, ICE, Qliksense

Qualifications/Academic/Craft/ Professional

Essential

  • Evidence of commitment to continued learning or improvement through attendance of courses.
  • Educated to GCSE standard with passes at Grade 4 or above for English and Maths or equivalent experience/qualifications.
  • Excellent IT & Keyboard skills

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 3 in healthcare or equivalent experience.
  • Training in motivational coaching and interviewing pr equivalent experience.

Further Training

Essential

  • Willingness to undertake training identified
  • Experience within preoperative assessment.
  • Experience of using initiative and willingness to challenge appropriately.
  • The ability to build a rapport and trust with a diverse group of people quickly and effectively.
  • Must be able to clearly and accurately convey information verbally to different audiences including GPs, healthcare staff, Consultants, Admin & Clerical staff and external healthcare providers.
  • Good telephone skills.
  • Must be able to handle distressed or aggressive patients and carers.
  • Willingness to challenge clinicians appropriately concerning capacity issues and patient queries.

Desirable

  • Experience within other relevant teams erg Corporate Planned Care Team for Elective Care (previously Data Quality)
  • A thorough understanding and a practical ability to implement the Trust's Access Policy.
