Job summary

In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical areas by providing a reliable continuous supply of ready-to-use reusable devices, including beds, mattresses, infusion devices, and more. Your efforts will directly impact the quality of care delivered to our patients, making a tangible difference in their lives.

As part of the Medical Equipment Management Department, you will have the opportunity to carry out essential device technical checks and repairs as needed. Your meticulous attention to detail and dedication to safety will ensure that our staff receive safe and reliable devices precisely when they are needed most.

Knowledge

Essential

  • The postholder must possess good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with ward and departmental staff, with a good delivery of spoken English
  • Basic computer and standard keyboard skills
  • Basic testing and first line maintenance of medical devices

Qualifications

Essential

  • Health decontamination NVQ3 or equivalent
  • The postholder requires basic literacy and numeracy skills

Desirable

  • English and Mathematics at GCSE or equivalent

Further Training

Essential

  • The ability to assimilate instructions and work to standard operating procedures

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience of working in an healthcare environment where interaction with a wide variety of staff is necessary
  • Significant experience of working in a store or other moving and handling envinronment

Contractual requirement

Essential

  • Ability to lift and handle equipment with the correct aids. To include moving beds and smaller items of medical equipment. Maybe be required to work at Newark on occasion
