Job summary

The Discharge Lounge is looking for a dedicated Receptionist to join their team at Kings Mill Hospital.

We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic, hardworking, positive, friendly, approachable, and ultimately committed to providing high standards of quality care.

We are offering an opportunity for a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team at the Discharge Lounge, which iscurrently located on level 4 clinic 15, but soon to move to the "Old Ward 3 " site on level 2 entrance 4.

In carrying out this role, the employee is expected to consistently align their behaviour with and actively support the Trust's values. The ultimate goal is to support the delivery of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement, both personally and within the Service.

This service not only benefits our patients but also improves and maintains the flow of patients through out the Emergency Department as well as the Trust.

Main duties of the job

  • To assist patients in their visit to the lounge by providing a warm and friendly receptionist service, collecting accurate and appropriate data from them and providing advice and assistance to ensure a smooth visit for all patients who attend the lounge.
  • To assist the nursing staff in the management of the patient's stay by carrying out the following:
  • Ensuring that the Care flow system is up to for the patient and reflects the patients location within the trust.
  • The arranging of transport for the patient, whether that be ambulance transport, taxi or patients own arrangements.
  • Ensuring that the nerve centre transport information is kept up to date.
  • Friends and Family survey support.
  • Supporting with telephone queries that come into the discharge lounge.
