An exciting opportunity has arisen for full time or part time fully qualified Mammographer in the Breast Unit.
Applicants wishing to train to achieve the College of Radiographer's Postgraduate Award in Mammography are encouraged to apply and will be supported to achieve this.
Youwill be actively involved in the National Breast Screening Programme as well as the symptomatic service, and will be part of new developments and innovations within the specialty. You will be expected to work at both King's Mill and Newark hospitals.
The role will include delivering a high standard of mammography, self-assessment of image quality, participation in assessment and symptomatic clinics and supporting other clinical colleagues.
Youmust be currently registered with HCPC and have a Radiography degree or DCRR.
Main duties of the job
To perform Breast Imaging (screening and symptomatic) in accordance with the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017and the Ionising Radiations (Medical Exposures) Regulations 2017, the Local Rules and departmental protocols. Ensuring that all the recommendations of the N.H.S.B.S.P. for quality control are observed and monitored
To maintain a high standard of quality in providing a Radiology service to support patients, professionals and the Trust in achieving their goals and targets.
To produce high quality patient information for the Trust to enable maximum use of resources, and to support service level agreements and planning of future services.
About us
We are the main acute hospital Trust providing high quality healthcare services for people in and around Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark, and Sherwood and parts of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire (a surrounding population of 418,000), within a 650 bedded Trust based on three sites, employing approx 5000 staff
The Radiology Service operates across all 3 sites, Kings Mill Hospital, Newark Hospital and Mansfield Community Hospital providing a comprehensive x-ray service to patients, including imaging modalities e.g. Nuclear Medicine, CT, Ultrasound and MRI.
The department has offers the full range of radiological diagnostic services with an annual activity of nearly 300,000 examinations.
You will be based at King's Mill Hospital, but occasional travel to Newark .

- Communicate effectively in an appropriate manner, complex information to patients, relatives and staff concerning radiological examinations, to ensure that patients are adequately informed, are able to consent to the examination and are able to ask questions or raise concerns.
- Communicate with external MDT teams and professionals to ensure high standards of patient care and an efficient service.
