Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Senior Scrub Nurse and Radiation Protection Supervisor, Band 6, in Theatres at Kings Mill Hospital.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, highly motivated nurse/ODP who will support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.
The Band 6 specialist lead will assist the Department Leader in working collaboratively with the senior team to ensure the provision of high-quality, evidence-based care through a dynamic and innovative leadership style.
Kings Mill Hospital has 14 Operating Theatres, including Urology, Gynae, Upper GI, Vascular, General, Colorectal, Orthopedics, ENT, Breast, Obstetrics, and Ophthalmics, as well as a dedicated 24/7 Emergency and Trauma Theatre.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the aptitude to work at a senior level. As an effective leader and role model, you will be expected to provide regular direct clinical care and use your experience to support the implementation of both clinical and non-clinical governance. You should work flexibly as a member of the scrub team to ensure that standards are being maintained, evaluated, and improved as necessary.
While in the role of Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) in theatres, the post holder will act as the principal point of contact between the theatre department and external auditors and provide assurance that all relevant training and protocols are in place and being adhered to.
