Our diverse surgical specialties include Ophthalmic, ENT/Dental, Elective Orthopaedics, Trauma, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Urology, Breast Surgery, and combined theatres. Additionally, we provide crucial Recovery care for ECT patients at Millbrook Mental Health Unit.

Our Recovery Team operates around the clock, offering a 24/7 service, with night shifts currently managed through an on-call system.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

As a Recovery Nurse/ODP, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a safe environment for unconscious patients, including airway maintenance and vital sign monitoring.
  • Identifying surgical or anaesthetic complications and taking prompt corrective action.
  • Administering pain management, wound care, and fluid replacement as required.
  • Ensuring the well-being of patients during their recovery phase.
  • Working autonomously and confidently to deliver exceptional care.
