Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to start a career in Cardiac physiology in a department with a good reputation in training.

You will spend 3 years working in the department full time progressing through the various test completing in house competencies while studying at the Sheffield Hallam University. The University course will entail block weeks at the university with time given on none university weeks for study, while you complete the BSc (Honours) Heath care Science.

Main duties of the job

Student post learning the skills required to be a Cardiac Physiologist. Including ECGs, ambulatory ECG and BP monitoring, Exercise Tolerance testing, Head up tilt table testing, Echocardiography, Cardiac implantable device follow up and implant as well as Cardiac catherisation.

  • Year 1 and 2 of BSc in Clinical Physiology Degree completed including Part 1 Professional Exam (SCST/ARTP)
  • Competencies acquired in routine and specialised cardiac/respiratory clinical investigations
  • Computer literacy skills
  • ILS certificate
  • Member of relevant Professional Bodies

  • European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
