Job summary

We are excited to recruit to the Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (ANNP) which is a new role for Sherwood Forest Hospitals. The successful applicant will join the Neonatal Team and work alongside the medical team and nursing team along with AHPs within the service. The successful applicant will work in line with the BAPM Capabilities Framework for ANNP. You will work in line with the four pillars: clinical practice, leadership and management, education and research.

Main duties of the job

The Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner's role incorporates both medical and nursing care. They will:

  • Provide expert and specialist care for sick and premature neonates. This includes the management of intensive care infants using advanced clinical, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Working as part of the Maternity and Neonatal multidisciplinary team to promote and develop high standards of holistic neonatal care.
  • Acting as a specialist providing advice and support to families, hospital and community staff.
