Job summary

This is a replacement post. The remit of the postholder/s will be to work within the multi-disciplinary team providing and further developing care for patients within the service. In addition, the individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the Care Group while having a significant commitment to teaching and training of junior staff.

It is envisaged that the appointee will contribute to the development and delivery of aspects of these services depending upon their interests and experience.

Main duties of the job

Duties

Clinical: All aspects of documentation and care of medical and surgical patients, including private patients, under the supervision of specialist registrars and consultants.

Teaching: Assistance in conjunction with consultants, lecturers and specialist registrars with the teaching of undergraduates.

Research/Audit/Quality Improvement: Involvement in these areas will be encouraged.

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification. MRCPCH

Desirable

  • Has passed MRCPCH Theory examinations (FOP/AKP/TAS).

Registration

  • Full registration with GMC/GDC with License to Practice.

Training

  • Safeguarding level 3 training. Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies by time of appointment in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice including: oGood clinical care oMaintaining good medical practice oGood relationships and communication with patients oGood working relationships with colleagues oGood teaching and training oProfessional behaviour and probity oDelivery of good acute clinical care oEligibility to work in the UK
