We are looking for a Consultant with specialist interest in diabetic foot disease to join our growing multi-disciplinary team.
The role will include developing our multi-morbid complex diabetes service to deliver holistic care with multi-specialist input.
The diabetes departmenthas multiple opportunities for research and career development within our supportiveteam.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will join three other Diabetic Foot Consultant colleaguesin a rotational manner of working. This rotation will include dedicated time withinthe Mike Edmond's Foot Unit (MEFU) and inpatient diabetic foot team, where theywill lead the multi-specialty and multi-disciplinary team with orthopaedic, vascular,plastics and microbiology colleagues.
There will be a period on Oliver ward, providing general medical care to our 20-30bedded ward, and up to 10 dedicated diabetic foot beds, as well as associatedweekend on-call working. Lastly the rotation will include complex diabetes clinicsboth within the hospital and community settings.
There will be opportunity to develop the service with support from the ClinicalLead and wider team, as well as develop research interests and mentor themultiple trainees from across disciplines that are involved in our work.
