This post is suitable for candidates with previous Paediatric and neonatal experience in level 2 and 3 neonatal unit interested in gaining advancing their paediatric training and in gaining further Neonatal and Paediatrics experience. Please also see table below. UK NHS experience is essential.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of patients under the supervision of a consultant neonatologist. Clinical responsibilities will include:
o Neonatal Unit- ward rounds, discharge planning, acute admissions and neonatal work.
o Responsibility for either neonatal unit, or postnatal ward and labour ward working with the other middle grade doctors.
o Regular attendance and active participation in neonatal outpatient clinics.
o Participation in overall supervision and education of junior doctors and medical students.
o Taking an active part in the department's education programme.
o Taking an active part in audit. An audit project is expected in this post.
