Junior Clinical Fellow Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Job summary

This is a Junior Clinical Fellow (FY2/3 or ST1/2) to replace a current gap in service provision for six months, with possible extension to 1 year. It would be ideally suited to someone who has completed FY2 and is looking for additional experience in O&G before applying for specialist training. The remit of the post holder will be to work within the multi-disciplinary team providing and further developing care for women in Maternity & gynaecology. In addition, the individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the department.The post will be predominantly based at the Denmark Hill site of Kings College Hospital with a small number of shifts at the Princess Royal University Hospital in Orpington. The proposed timetable is attached. Further cross site working to encourage full integration of the departments may be required in the future. The On-Call commitment is for an average 1:5.5 rota. The post-holder will be expected to take part equally with other trainee in such a rota with EWTD with prospective cover.As a junior employee of the Trust you will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust's patients. Although the post is not recognised by the Royal College of Gynaecologist as training posts, they offer excellent educational opportunities and the successful applicant will be given the same educational opportunities.

Main duties of the job

Applications are invited for a Trust Junior Clinical Fellow post in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology to be based at the Denmark Hill site of King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to commence in March 2026 for a 6 month fixed term contract, which may be renewed.

This post will provide an ideal opportunity as an introduction to obstetrics and gynaecology. The post holder will be on-call (with ST3-5 and ST6-7) as part of the Resident O&G rota which is EWTD compliant and provides protected time for teaching.

Applicants must be fully registered with the GMC and experience of working in the NHS (or equivalent healthcare system, Australia, New Zealand or Canada as examples)
