Job summary

The Friends of King's College Hospital (The Friends) are looking for an experienced Shop Manager to join the team for a fixed term of 12 months during which time they will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Friends' shop and trolley shop, whilst also supporting the development and growth activities of the Friends. They will work alongside the Charity Managers as well as the team of volunteers, who the Friends are looking to grow over time.

Shift patterns will normally be 12:00pm - 6:00pm four days a week, but some changes to this including weekend working will be required when volunteers are unavailable. The Friends aim to have the shop open 9:00am - 5:30pm Monday - Friday and 10:00am - 4:00pm at the weekends.

Main duties of the job

To oversee day-to-day running of the Friends shop(s) and trolley shop(s) including creating a welcoming and appealing atmosphere, managing volunteers and carrying out administrative tasks.

To support development and growth activities ofthe Friends by promoting membership of the Friends, noting feedback from customers and developing partnerships in the hospital, in the community and with suppliers.
