An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Band 5 Staff Nurse with excellent communication skills to join the Outpatient nursing team at Princess Royal University Hospital

Main duties of the job
- Work within the department to both provide and further develop the service.
- Act as a clinical role model.
- Assist junior staff in the assessment of patients and provide advice when necessary.
- Maintain and interpret the significance of data regarding patients' health status and communicate this within the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
- Serve as an effective role model to the nursing team in the delivery of nursing care.
- Assist and supervise junior staff to enable them to assess, plan, and evaluate care for patients attending the Outpatients Department.
- Be aware of the NMC Code of Professional Practice and ensure individual professional development aligns with this code, with approval and agreement from the Trust.
- Take responsibility for the correct administration, safe custody, and storage of drugs when appropriate, including management of FP10 prescriptions.
- Ensure own mandatory training is kept up to date.
- Adhere to Trust and departmental policies regarding sickness reporting and annual leave booking.
- Maintain standards of conduct and dress to sustain public confidence, in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Trust policies.
- Set a good example by role modelling and being approachable and supportive to the Manager and staff.
- Work with the Manager to perform regular appraisals of junior staff within an acceptable timeframe.
